Hi As a SIC Architectural Designer, he is responsible for working closely with firm principals and architects to explore project feasibility studies, visiting sites, and doing architectural design drawings, documentation and project visualizations and other related tasks. He assists with all phases of a project including preliminary design, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and construction administration.

Education

Omar received his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College (BAC) Spring 2022. During his time at the BAC, Omar developed an interest in the term “inclusive design.” For his degree project, Omar developed a research about inclusive design in museums. Omar’s main theme was how we can change our perception of museums and create one where it focuses and enhances the interaction experience between the curator, art, and the user. His project was nominated for design excellence by the school.

Work:

Previously, Omar worked as a Lead Designer at YouthBuild Boston (YBB), a Roxbury-based nonprofit. He teamed up with Lead Designers to design small budgeted projects for the community. Another part of the program is to teach high school students the main principles of Architecture and get them ready before joining their schools.

Due to his work at YBB and interests in graphical representation, Omar is currently an adjunct professor at the BAC co-teaching CityLab class – a class targets graphical hand representation and engaging with the community.
