Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) “is a non-profit organization and a dynamic community development corporation that started in the South End neighborhood of Boston, to address displacement of low-income families due to urban development. IBA offers affordable housing and supportive programming to increase social and economic mobility for the families we serve.”

This project portfolio includes 35 units across nine different existing buildings in Boston’s South End neighborhood. These units will have all the kitchens and bathrooms rehabbed with new cabinets/vanities/appliances/countertops/fixtures, other interior improvements such as refinished wood floors and all-new paint throughout, new interior LED lighting, roof replacements, exterior masonry repair, sprinkler systems in buildings that do not yet have it, and conversions from gas-fired hot water and heating/cooling to all-electric systems. Additionally, an existing 6-story office building will be converted into 6 units of income-restricted housing. That scope of work includes a full gut-rehab of the building’s interior, significant structural reinforcement throughout, full window replacements, exterior masonry repairs, all-new electric mechanical systems, new electric and plumbing throughout, sprinkler and fire alarm system, elevator rehab, new roof, and much more. All units will be receiving funding via historic tax credits.
