The owners of this existing single-family home wanted a new first floor kitchen, a powder room (half bathroom) on the first floor for guests, a full renovation of their second floor full bathroom, and a basement renovation which included new finishes throughout and a new full bathroom. Additionally, they wanted a new rear deck to enjoy the outdoors more often. To accomplish these goals the existing chimney was fully removed which opened up additional space in the second floor bathroom and first floor, a first floor closet between the existing kitchen and dining room was removed, and a structural wall was removed on the first floor to open up the floor plan. The first floor joists were leveled and new steel columns were added in the basement. As shown in the photos, the resulting first floor kitchen includes a large central island with waterfall countertops and bar-style seating, new cabinets and appliances throughout, new flooring and LED lighting for the entire first floor, a spacious rear deck for outdoor seating and gathering, a brand new second floor bathroom with built-in linens storage, and fully rehabilitated basement for family gatherings including a second full bathroom.
