A couple in an East Boston condo building wanted to convert their garden-level gym and storage area into an in-law suite for their family and visitors. Originally a school, the building featured high ceilings, masonry construction, and lots of natural light. The new space features a full kitchen, dining and living areas, two large bedrooms and two full bathrooms, laundry, and lots of storage. The old windows were replaced with new tempered windows, a new all-electric heating and cooling system was installed, a new domestic hot water system, and all-new finishes throughout.
